Vince Cable MP, Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor, was in Essex this week and spoke to Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman Cllr David Kendall about local issues, including the effect of the recession on local businesses.

Vince said that Brentwood & Ongar was "a real prospect" for a Lib Dem success.

David said:

"In my view Vince Cable is the only politician who is taken seriously by the public when talking about the economy. Vince really understands the economic issues facing this country and I was very pleased to be able to highlight the issues that businesses in Brentwood & Ongar are facing.

"Listening to Vince's thoughts as to how the economic situation is evolving demonstrates how we need him as the next chancellor."
