Nick Clegg has today urged voters to apply for a postal vote.

He said:

"The national and local elections coming up are really important. It's the biggest chance to change things for some time.

"But are you sure you'll be able to make it to a polling station?

"Arranging a postal vote means you get your ballot paper a few days in advance and can post it back when it suits you.

"You don't need to worry about making time on Polling Day. Perfect if you're busy with a job, have a family to look after, or if you're less mobile."
