Pickles should be "a worried man"

Lib Dem members gather to support David Kendall's bid to be the next MP for Brentwood & Ongar

Orange diamonds supporting David Kendall & the Lib Dems are popping up all over!

Voter feedback shows that the general election result in Brentwood & Ongar is going to be close and that Tory Chairman Eric Pickles should be a worried man.

Strong canvass returns from across the constituency show the Liberal Democrats are picking up strong support not only from the Tories but from former Labour supporters who are voting tactically to keep Mr Pickles out.

Nick Clegg's superb performances at the leadership debates and the Tories poor record of running Brentwood Borough Council has thrown the election result wide open and it seems that Mr Pickles majority is being cut down day by day.

David Kendall said:

"The Liberal Democrats finished a strong second at the last General Election in Brentwood & Ongar and are the only serious alternative to the Tories here.

"We can see our support is growing day by day. We have had many offers of help and support and our bright orange posters are popping up all over the place.

"People have told me they are fed up being taken for granted by Eric Pickles and the Tories and are still angry about his famous comments on BBC's Question Time regarding his second home.

"The performance of Nick Clegg on the Leadership Debates has also given our campaign a tremendous lift.

"People like the fact that I am a local person who will devote all my time, energy and commitment to representing them at Westminster and are backing me to provide a fresh start for Brentwood & Ongar".
