David KendallFigures have been released that give a clear indication as to how many people will be taken out of paying income tax in Brentwood from the 1st April and the number of residents who will be better off by £200 per year.

This good news is due to the Lib Dem policy of raising the income tax threshold which was in their manifesto at the General Election and was part of the Coalition agreement.

The figures show that 580 Brentwood residents will be taken out of paying tax altogether and 26,400 will pay £200 a year less in income tax.

Talking about the news Lib Dem Leader and Parliamentary Candidate at the last General Election Cllr David Kendall said:

"This will be very welcome news to many hard pressed Brentwood residents who are facing increased prices on food and energy supplies and some cuts in services. While the Lib Dems may have not been able to deliver on everything they wanted, this is one manifesto commitment that will make a real difference to people's lives".
