Brentwood and Ongar Lib Dems are pleased to announce that Nina Cutbush, the popular Warley candidate in the 2008 Borough Council elections, has been elected as their new Vice-Chair and will also take responsibility for fund-raising and events.
Cllr Karen Chilvers, who was elected as Chair of the local party for a second year, said:
"Nina is a real asset to the party and was certainly very popular with residents when she stood for election earlier this year.
"Many new members are joining the local Lib Dems and I believe this is because people are starting to see that, nationally and locally, we are the party of real difference with Nick Clegg, Vince Cable on the national platform and the local team speaking up for residents and making their voices heard on a variety of issues. We really can make a difference in Brentwood and Ongar, as proved by the Tory U-Turn on the Cabinet Proposal in Brentwood and the swing to us at the Hutton South by-election.
"Nina certainly brings some great event experience to the party and, if you've been thinking about getting involved, now's the time to get in touch!"
