Brentwood North Environmental Partnership

Cllr Alison fulcher

Cllr Alison Fulcher, Brentwood North ward, recently chaired the inaugural meeting for a new local forum whose focus will be the broader environment in Brentwood North ward. Although initiated by the Liberal Democrats this group now has an independent chair and is non partisan.

Items under discussion included:

  • Concerns over proposed housing developments and the proposed Lidl opening on
    the Wates Way industrial site.
  • Pedestrian and vehicular traffic associated with the schools in Sawyers Hall Lane
  • Speeding and traffic down a number
  • Litter around the ward.

One early result from these discussions was a "litter-pick". Volunteers were supplied with litter pickers and black bags to collect general litter around Ongar Road. Further such events are planned in the future.Interested volunteers are also being trained up to use hand-held speed cameras so that roads can be assessed for traffic calming measures.
