Whilst Braintree has had over 33,000 metres of resurfacing, Brentwood has had just over 4,000 and trails Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping.

9 Brentwood 4,120

10 Castle Point 3,685

11 Rochford 3,080

12 Maldon 2,350

Commenting on these figures Lib Dem County Councillor for the Brentwood South Division David Kendall said:

"These shocking figures show once again how Tory controlled Essex County Council is short changing the residents of Brentwood.

"We have footpaths across the Borough that are in urgent need of resurfacing to make them safe but the County keep saying they don't have the money to do them. 74% of council tax that Brentwood residents pay goes to the County Council and this is yet another example of how our area isn't getting a fair deal from the Conservatives compared with other Boroughs and Districts.

"County Cllr Barry Aspinell and I will keep raising this point at every opportunity and will fight hard to get Brentwood the funding it needs and deserves".
