Brentwood's Night Time Economy: Lib Dems call for public meeting

30 Aug 2012

Cllr David Kendall has called for the leader of Brentwood Council to organise a public meeting for residents living in the town centre to discuss a number of issues relating to Brentwood's Night Time economy.

In his request Cllr Kendall highlights the problems in the Town Centre, raised in a recent meeting with residents and often raised on the doorstep by town centre residents. The meeting highlighted the fact that many residents who live in the Town Centre face a number of issues on a nightly basis due to Brentwood's "Night time Economy" which are affecting their quality of life.

He has asked that a public meeting be held at the Town Hall to discuss all the related issues. Residents said they would welcome such a move with representatives from the police and the owners of the night clubs and the pubs in attendance to listen directly to residents' concerns and hopefully help with offering some solutions..

A reponse from the Conservative leader, Cllr Louise McKinlay, is awaited.
