As part of the local development plan this underused car park is planned to be turned into housing. Soon, it will be closed off completely to stop anti social behaviour.
At this time, there is no planning application (see search) but we do understand that the developers have been conducting their own research and consulting with neighbours.
Cllr Karen Chilvers explains:
"With almost 14 years of experience on the planning committee and as ward councillor it does appear that the developer is genuinely looking for input from neighbours to this site and, hoping I am correct, I applaud them for that.
"As your borough councillors we have been promised early involvement in order to find the right development here and we will endeavour to keep you informed.
"Once the application is received, we will be aware of the key deadlines and we can then have some discussions with you.
