Calls to light up youth gang alley

BG

A "potentially dangerous" alleyway could be lit to address safety fears.

Residents say they could be attacked in the unlit cut-through between Copperfield Gardens and Browne Close, Brentwood.

Residents will be consulted on the plans, which recommend five lamps at a cost of £5,000.

Ward member Cllr Ross Carter said: "There are quite a few concerns about safety. The path is very widely used.

"Many crowds of youths do hang around the area and have caused quite a lot of damage to Copperfield Garden properties."
