Concessionary travel decision welcomed

Brentwood's Liberal Democrat councillors have welcomed the news that elderly residents are going to be able to continue using their bus passes from 9.00am rather than 9.30am as had originally been suggested.

The issue had caused major concerns amongst bus users across the borough because many residents' journey times were going to be badly affected if the start time had changed

Cllr David Kendall, Lib Dem Group Leader, said:

"We have consistently called for a 9am start time to be maintained and following pressure from local bus users and the Lib Dem group the Conservatives running Brentwood Borough Council have agreed to our request.

"This news will be a great relief to many of our elderly bus users who I know where very worried about what was going to happen."
