Councillors celebrate byway success
A peaceful byway connecting two villages will be returned to its former glory after action by Lib Dem councillors Barry Aspinell and David Kendall.
Beads Hall Lane was only passable by 4-wheel drives and horses before Essex County Council levelled out the road, resurfaced it and created a ford over the stream, leaving villages plagued by a cut through route. A petition, signed by 143 residents, has resulted in the decision that the stream will be put back to how it was.
Cllr Barry Aspinell said: "Obviously I am pleased that, following a site visit, the committee saw the problem first hand and the residents will have their peaceful byway back."
