CROSSRAIL: Help us find a solution
Shenfield's Liberal Democrat councillors are calling on local residents to work together with them to find a solution to the parking displacement problem if Crossrail do take over Friars Avenue Car Park.
Cllr Barry Aspinell said:
"Eric Pickles MP and Brentwood's Conservative administration have made such a hash of the negotiations with Crossrail that we have no faith in their further negotiations over the car park."
"So, we feel we have to take the responsible route for Shenfield residents, businesses and commuters and ask if anyone has any thoughts on where we could provide parking if the Compulsory Purchase Order goes through."
Cllr Liz Cohen said:
"If we all work together, we could well find a solution by providing parking or park and ride solutions in and around Shenfield, perhaps on parcels of private or disused land."
Cllr Graeme Clark added:
"Any idea is welcome, just send it to Shenfield.Parking@brentwoodlibdems.org.uk or call Liz, Barry or me to discuss."
"Let's do our best to sort out the mess the Tories have left us to deal with."
