Crossrail road disruption communication: "Another Tory Dereliction of Duty" says Cllr Barry Aspinell
Opposition councillors are once again learning about major Brentwood issues from the local press as Tory councillors FAIL to inform them of the months of disruption facing Brentwood's roads with the installation of Crossrail 33,000 volt cabling.
Cllr Barry Aspinell, Leader of the opposition, said:
"It is an outrage that whilst playing out their propoganda pantomime at last Wednesday's full council, hurling out insults to members and despite Crossrail being on the agenda, the Tory councillor responsible for Crossrail, Cllr Keith Parker, or the Leader, Cllr Louise McKinlay, did not bother to inform members of the works.
"It has not appeared on any council agenda and neither of the county councillors, Cllr David Kendall and myself, have been asked for their opinions or been able to consult their residents.
"The three month disruption will cross seven schools, most of our major roads and lead to a lot of disruption but due to the Tory's lack of attention to the mattesr really facing Brentwood residents we have not been allowed to negotiate the best result for the residents we represent."

- Ingrave Road
- London Road
- Long Ridings Avenue
- Middleton Hall Lane
- Oliver Road
- Queens Road
- Rose Valley
- Wash Road
- Woodland Avenue
Cllr David Kendall said:
"This should have formed part of the council agenda both at Tory-controlled Essex and Brentwood councils so members could be consulted and the best result got for residents.
"It beggars belief that despite someone being given a formal role as our lead member on Crossrail that we have to find out from the press, after the work has started."
