It has been announced that the 81/82 service, which was under threat, has been saved.

Cllr David Kendall, Secretary of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association, has welcomed the news that Ensign Buses have registered a route which offers a Monday - Saturday service. This will be operated on a commercial basis.

He said:

"This is the news bus passengers in Hutton were waiting to hear and I know it will be a massive relief to them all, particularly the older residents, many of whom the thought the service might be gone for good.

"We would like to thank all the bus passengers who have contacted the Association and also lobbied their County and Borough councillors on this issue. By working together everyone involved has achieved a great result for the community."
