Brentwood High Street - assurances sought

Lib Dem councillors David Kendall and Karen Chilvers have sought reassurances from Brentwood Borough Council and Essex County Council regarding the works going on in the High Street. Their call comes following a series of complaints from residents on the following issues:

1) General Health & Safety concerns

2) The new stone work being considered slippery

3) Stains appearing on the stonework

4) People tripping up over the kerbs

5) The bus stop locations in William Hunter Way

6) The new built up areas around the trees

7) The removal of the Clock

Cllr Kendall said

"We have demanded action and reassurances on a number of these points and will continue to do so to ensure residents voices are heard.

"Whilst there was always going to be upheaval with any major works of this kind, it is vital these issues are addressed as soon as possible to maintain residents confidence in the whole project."

"Please let us know your concerns abut the High Street".
