High Street Clock Returns - Well done Jill!

27 Jan 2012

As the refurbished clock was unveiled in Brentwood High Street on Wednesday (25/1/12) it was great to see that Jill Hubbard, former Lib Dem councillor for Warley, was there to see it happen.

It was Jill who saw the clock lying in a sorry state at the Council's Depot in Warley, alerted the press and asked for it to be returned to it's rightful place in the High Street.

Finally after many many months of waiting and numerous calls for it's return by Jill and several councillors, including Lib Dem leader Cllr David Kendall, it is finally back where it belongs.

Speaking after the unveiling Cllr Kendall said

"Jill Hubbard deserves recognition for all her efforts to get the clock back in the High Street and I was proud to be there with her when it was finally unveiled. The clock, sponsored by the Brentwood Gazette, has been a focal point for our town over a number of years and I am sure many residents will welcome it's return."

"Jill's actions show that Lib Dem activists are getting things done for Brentwood, whether they are elected or not, and don't need to be part of the Tory administration to do so."

Well done Jill!
