Hutton Community Centre – Lib Dem Leader inspects the fence
Earlier this year, Tory-controlled Brentwood Council awarded Tory Cllr Keith Parker's company a contract to provide fencing at Hutton Community Centre. Cllr Parker, prior to being awarded the contract, had spoken of the urgency of installing the fencing. This was in February, the work started in May. Some local councillors also questioned whether Cllr Parker's company was, in fact, a fencing company?
Lib Dem Leader Cllr Barry Aspinell visited the site yesterday to inspect the work that is supposed to "protect the facility". Let us know whether you think this is a good use of your money by Brentwood Conservatives.
An email from officers today responding to our question about whether it had been finished stated:
" I understand that it is now complete with the main gates installed. There are padlocks yet to be provided and these will be specified by the Fire service."
Is this a good start to spending £165,000 worth of our money?
