Interview: Cllr Liz Cohen
In an interview with the Essex Enquirer today, new Shenfield Councillor Liz Cohen gives her reaction to her election in the traditionally Tory safe seat:
"I'm absolutely over the moon and I really can't wait to get started.
"I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for me. Thank you to residents, traders, friends and neighbours."
"I hope to be able to obtain more communication. I think the residents deserve to know what is happening in the town if there are plans drawn up then we need to have our say.
"Speeding, parking and Crossrail will be first on the agenda. We will sit down and spend time and listen to residents and see what we can help with.
"Hopefully we will see some improvements get done that have been neglected for years by the Tories. We haven't had any money spent on Shenfield for 15 years.
"The pavements on the whole of the Broadway are wobbly, broken and uneven. They have not had any attention for years."
"I will do my utmost; I will put my heart and soul into the job. I can't promise you we can fix everything, but we will try our best."
