Lib Dem County Councillor David Kendall was invited to the grand opening of the refurbished Brentwood Station last week and was joined at the event by a number of other people including the Chairman of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association (BBARUA) Wendy Way.

David who is also secretary of the BBARUA has been working with others for many years on lobbying National Express for the much needed improvments at the station and he was delighted to se the first phase finally completed.

The new ticket office, waiting rooms, toilets and bike storage facilities should make a real difference to Brentwood's commuters. BBARUA are now pushing for the lifts to be installed before 2013 if possible and are still asking for some fast trains to London.

David said

"I would like to thank all the members of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association for campaigning for many years to get these much needed improvments. This investment by National Express shows the commitment we were looking for and once we get the lifts installed we should have a station we can all be proud of".
