Lib Dem County Councillor David Kendall has made representations to the Cabinet member for Highways at Essex County Council regarding the dangerous bend at Pondfield Lane / Hanging Hill Lane and called for major road improvments to be introduced to make it safer.

The bend has been the scene of numerous accidents leaving motorists injured and property and vehicles badly damaged. The Cabinet member, whilst sympathetic to the situation, told David the area did not meet the criteria for major road improvments and will only support minor changes to signage.

Whilst welcoming any improvements David doesn't believe these measures go far enough and is supporting the Brentwood South Borough councillors in their bid to get the major changes that are needed.

He believes there is far more chance of achieving something if the County and Borough members work together on this issue rather than on their own.
