Despite the frustrations of dealing with Tory-controlled Essex, County Cllr David Kendall has been successful in getting pothole repairs and a refresh of road markings at the roundabout by Laura Ashley, at the junction of Western Road and Weald Road.

The works will take place before the end of March 2013.

Cllr Kendall said:

"At long last work is finally going to be done to restore this mini roundabout at this busy very junction. Quite why it has taken a situation where the roundabout has had to virtually disappear before any action is being taken remains to be seen. Sadly this is what we have come to expect from Tory controlled Essex County Council".

Cllr James Sapwell, Brentwood North, said:

"I am delighted to see that action has finally been taken by ECC but it is frustrating that we have had to wait so long to get to this stage. The roundabout has been in a poor state of repair for a long while and residents have regularly mentioned this to us on the doorsteps.

"I'm sure they will be pleased to hear that the work is to be completed."
