2011 saw Brentwood North Lib Dem Cllrs successfully persuade the Highways Committee to approve extended residents parking hours until 9pm. This is important as we need to ensure that residents living on North Road Avenue can park their cars upon arriving home late when the William Hunter Way Development has been built.

The next step for 2012 is to make sure that budget is allocated to make this a reality. We will be door knocking with a petition to ensure that action is taken. If you want to sign the petition, please use the link below!

For this scheme to be truly effective, and to ensure that Brentwood North residents are protected, Lib Dem Councillors want this extended to Park Road, Waterloo Road, Western Avenue and Wellesley Road. We have asked officers to cost this and report back to us.

Brentwood North Cllr Ross Carter, who is spearheading the petition, said:

"Your signature is vital in ensuring that the need for extended parking hours is not forgotten by our Council. There is an obligation on the Conservatives who approved the development in spite of Lib Dem and local resident concerns that parking is protected ahead of the planned mid 2012 start date".
