Lib Dems celebrate two planning refusals in one night!

Councillors Karen Chilvers and Ross Carter are delighted that the two planning applications they referred to this month's committee have been refused.

Cllr Chilvers referred a further development in the station area that would have resulted in further over-development of the area around The Base and exacerbated the parking problems in the area. This was refused unanimously.

Cllr Carter referred the application that would have seen fences erected around the Formula Once Centre in Burland Road and change the nature of the area considerably. This was also refused.

A contentious application for further development of the Warley Hospital site was deferred to the next meeting.

Members of the committee also supported the officers' view that the council should raise a continued objection to the crusher on the Childerditch Industrial Estate.
