Lib Dem Councillor and well known Transport campaigner David Kendall has launched a campaign to save the 73 evening bus service which operates between Pilgrims Hatch and Warley via Brentwood High Street.

The service, which has a County Council supported contract, is under threat of being axed because of low passenger numbers and a final decision on it's future is due to be made in the New Year. David is urging bus users and residents on the route who are concerned about losing this service to sign the Lib Dems online petition, and e-mail the County Council at local.busteam@essex.gov.uk or telephone 0845 6037631 to let the County Council know their views and how the axing of this service would affect them.

David said:

"There are very few evening bus services operating in Brentwood at the moment and we need to do all we can to save what we've got. This is a classic case of "Use it or Lose it" because we need to get passenger numbers up if the service is going to be maintained.

"My Lib Dem colleagues and I will do all we can to save this service but I would ask residents to make sure their views are known.
