Liberal Democrats: the only serious opposition in Brentwood

In Brentwood, despite the national picture, we bucked the trend and were delighted with the results and support we were able to achieve across the Borough. We not only held the two seats we were defending in Pilgrims Hatch and Brentwood North with increased majorities, but made a spectacular gain in Brentwood West and achieved a sensational win in Shenfield which has been Conservative since records began.

The Lib Dem group has now gone up from six to eight and across Brentwood we polled 28% of the votes against just over 14% for Labour.

These results prove once again that the Liberal Democrats remain the ONLY serious opposition to the Tories in Brentwood and can make gains across the Borough that Labour could only ever dream of.

Our task moving forward will be to build on this success, continue to constructively hold this Conservative administration to account and offer the new policies and vision that Brentwood so badly needs.
