Due to work commitments, which see him working away from Essex for a considerable amount of time, Mathew Aspinell has decided to resign his seat on Brentwood Council. This will mean there will be a by-election announcement shortly.

Mat said:

"It has become increasingly difficult to give the time to serving as a councillor as my career has flourished and taken me away from home more and more. It is only fair to the residents of Pilgrims Hatch that I stand down."

Cllr David Kendall said:

"I thank Mat Aspinell for his contribution to the council over the last three years and wish him well in the future."

"We will shortly be announcing a very exciting candidate for the by-election in Pilgrims Hatch, which could take place on the same day as the borough council elections."

"In the meantime, Cllr Barry Aspinell and I will take over Mat's casework and residents can contact us via the link on the left."
