Brentwood and Ongar Liberal Democrats have elected their executive members for 2011 - 2012.

Brentwood North Cllr Ross Carter takes over as local party chair from Brentwood West Cllr and local businessman Nigel Clarke.

He will be supported in this role by Vice Chair Cllr James Sapwell and media officer Karen Chilvers. Kelvedon Hatch member Charlie Green will continue in his role as constituency treasurer.

The new line up is believed to herald the youngest chair and vice chair elected in the Country.

Brentwood Lib Dem Leader Cllr David Kendall commented:

"Our executive members bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to their roles and I am confident they will prove valuable in dealing with the challenges over the coming year.

"Liberal Democrats are proving themselves nationally as a party able to deal with international financial challenges facing our country and the legacy of debt left by Labour. Locally, we continue to put Brentwood first against a backdrop of Conservative mismanagement, often supported by the local Labour Party with their vote."
