Brentwood parents were celebrating today after winning their battle to retain an escort on their school bus.

County Cllr David Kendall said: "I am very pleased to hear that one escort is going to be retained on the St Helens School bus and the double decker is going to stay as I know some schools across Essex have lost their escorts completely.

"This result is very much down to the efforts of the parents who quickly mobilised support to try and save the escorts and made sure their voices were heard.

"I am pleased to have played a part in their campaign and am delighted that common sense has prevailed".
