GOOD NEWS! The planning application was rejected at the Planning Committee.

Ross Carter, Lib Dem Candidate for 1st May, said:

"I am so pleased for the residents in the Park Road and Mayfield Gardens area. We all worked together to make sure residents' voices were heard and the application was rejected. I'd like to personally thank everyone who signed our petition, the largest petition received on the matter, and hope we can continue to work together in the future"

Our original story:

"A planning application has been submitted for a three storey block of twelve flats to be built at 89 - 93 Park Road; the green space at the bottom end of Mayfield Gardens opposite Roding and many residents have contacted the Brentwood North Lib Dem team to voice their objections.

Councillor Reg Straw and prospective Borough council candidate Ross Carter are opposed to this application as they feel it is too close to existing properties, it will result in a loss of green space, is over over-development and because the private amenity space of those residents where the flats back onto existing gardens would be invaded.

The land was originally considered unsuitable for development when the estate was built - Reg and Ross are unclear about what has changed?"
