Cllr Liz Cohen took swift action this morning when she noticed the damage from a car hitting the safety railings at Tabors Corner at 7.30am on the school run.

Cllr Cohen said:

"After noticing this early this morning I returned after dropping my children at school to assess the damage and see what could be done. There was glass and nails everywhere and the barrier was sticking up in the air at a sharp angle.

"I phoned Highways and ensured they knew how dangerous this was for everyone, especially children n their way to and from school and by 1.30pm site was cleared of broken barrier and clear of debris."

"It was nice to speak to many other mums who were grateful for some swift action from their local councillor."

Liz Cohen hopes to be councillor for Shenfield
