I would like to say a very big thank you to the residents of Pilgrims Hatch who came out and voted for me at last Thursday's Borough Council elections. I am very grateful to have been re-elected with an increased majority and now the election is over will do my best to represent all the residents regardless of their political persuasion.

I would also like to thank residents for the many messages of support I have received since I broke my ankle whilst Ice Skating with my son Jack. Fighting the last ten days of an election campaign with a broken ankle was not an easy task however it has opened my eyes and improved my understanding of the problems faced by the many people in our community who have more serious disability issues than myself.

While there may only be six Liberal Democrats on the Borough Council against a very large Conservative majority, my colleagues and I will do our best to hold the administration to account and offer constructive opposition on the many issues facing our community.

Cllr David Kendall

Leader, Liberal Democrat Group & Pilgrims Hatch Ward councillor
