Brentwood Liberal Democrats were devastated to hear of the sad and untimely death of Bobby Green, well known Ingatestone community activisit and campaigner who tweeted as @Ingatestone_UK, and was to stand as our Ingatestone, Fryerning and Mountnessing candidate on 22nd May 2014.

Cllr Barry Asinell, Leader of Brentwood Lib Dems, said:

"In the short time that I had the pleasure of knowing Bobby her enthusiasm, humour and energy were just three of the qualities that shone through. She was a wonderful supporter of the Lib Dems locally and an enthusiastic social media fan. Her Ingatestone tweets established her as a "go to" person within that community.

"A sad and tragic loss for her family and many friends, and a massive blow to the Liberal Democrats in Brentwood."

Her friend, Cllr Karen Chilvers, said:

"I am devastated that I will never get to see Bobby again and I know I am not alone - we became friends on twitter and hit it off when we met as we were both Lib Dems and animal lovers. We have all lost a wonderful lady who was truly one in a million."

Bobby died in hospital in Basingstoke on Sunday 6th April following surgery in January for a rare form of cancer, Pseudomyxoma. A Facebook page has been set up and asks people who knew Bobby to vote online to try to raise funds for the charity that supported Bobby, her husband and others with this rare illness. You can vote HERE.

Bobby leaves a husband, a young family and hundreds of friends.
