Tory HQ bungle figures on teenage pregnancies

The Tories have been accused of being "out of touch" today for wrongly claiming more than half of girls in the most deprived areas get pregnant before they turn 18. They said the conception rate for this age group in the 10 most disadvantaged areas of England was 54%, while the real figure was 5.4%.

Disturbing news in today's Brentwood Gazette as another major mistake is made by Tory-controlled Brentwood Council. In failing to renew its registration with the Information Commissioner's Office's Data Protection Public Register, thousands of pounds of council tax payers' money is at risk.

Brentwood North's Lib Deb Team are celebrating the decision last night to reject a second application for the green space to the rear of 89 - 93 Park Road. This follows a previous rejection by Brentwood Council, upheld at appeal.

Town centre feature to remain

Brentwood's Liberal Democrats were delighted last night that the issue of the Western Road/Weald Road hedge was finally put to rest, but angry that officer time had been wasted on the issue and residents were caused worry and distress after two consultations had already shown minimal support for it's removal.
