Long term commitment on refuse collections is needed

Call for long term commitment to residents on waste

Lib Dem Group Leader Councillor David Kendall has called on Tory controlled Brentwood Borough Council to give a long term commitment to residents that they will NOT consider introducing fortnightly residual waste collections, tagging bins or charging by weight collected for at least the next five years.

Deep potholes could appear in Brentwood's roads under controversial cost-cutting proposals.The plans - likely to be introduced on April 1 - mean only urgent repairs will be carried out when road maintenance funds run out.

Increased security at Brentwood stations welcomed

The Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that ONE Railway has contracted a Security company (MH Security) to provide security agents for Brentwood Station. The agents have been taken on to help improve passenger safety and reduce the number of groups congregating at the station after school and into the early evening. This is an additional initiative to work already being done in the area by the local police and PCSOs.
