Brentwood's opposition parties were united last night in their successful campaign to get an hour's car parking charge returned. Last year, the charges were changed so it was either 30 minutes or two hours - a move unpopular with residents and businesses.

Opposition councillors are once again learning about major Brentwood issues from the local press as Tory councillors FAIL to inform them of the months of disruption facing Brentwood's roads with the installation of Crossrail 33,000 volt cabling.
Last week's full council meeting saw the Conservatives voting for more transparency of council meetings, following a motion tabled by Cllr William Lloyd and seconded by Lib Dem Cllr Karen Chilvers.
