Lib Dems have worked hard to make changes to NHS Bill

The Liberal Democrats have worked hard in Government to make sure that widespread concerns about NHS reform have been properly addressed, in an announcement made today. The following changes come as a direct result of Lib Dem pressure within government: There will be no special favours for the private sector The pace of change will be slowed down to ensure that changes are not rushed The NHS will be properly accountable - both nationally and locally. Labour left our NHS struggling with out-of-control bureaucracy and wasting billions of pounds each year. That's why we need to act now to ensure the NHS continues to deliver the best services for patients across Britain.

Liberal Democrat councillors support joint use of Sawyers site

Brentwood Lib Dem County Cllrs David Kendall and Barry Aspinell believe the best solution for the Sawyers Hall College site would see it being shared between a new University Technical College and the Becket Keys Church School because there is a definite need and demand for both in Brentwood. Cllrs Kendall and Aspinell formed this view after recently attending a meeting at Larchwood Primary School organised by parents to discuss the various options for the Sawyers Hall College site.

Thank you for your support

I would like to say a big thank you to all the residents who came out and voted for the Liberal Democrat candidates at the recent Brentwood Borough Council elections. We were delighted that Cllr Vicky Davies held her seat in Pilgrims Hatch with an increased majority and that Cllr James Sapwell was elected for the first time in Brentwood North following the retirement of Reg Straw. It was with great sadness that we lost Karen Chilvers in Brentwood West by just ten votes. Karen had served her residents with great passion and commitment for the last four years but sadly it wasn't enough in what was always going to be a very hard fought contest. I know many Brentwood West residents and the members of the Lib Dem group will miss Karen greatly but we all wish her well with whatever she decides to do next.
