Anger as Tories try to take credit for Brentwood Station improvements

Lib Dem Cllr Karen Chilvers has welcomed the news that Brentwood Rail station improvements are due to start in the next ten days and reacted angrily to a Tory campaign that is attempting to take the credit for the work of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association just days before the long-campaigned for improvement works are due to start.

In response to Brentwood Leisure Trust's application for an alcohol license at Merrymeade House, Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood North's Liberal Democrat councillors have met with residents of Merrymeade House, Brentwood Place, Burland Road and Highland Avenue to discuss their concerns and involve them in the Council's licensing process.

Lib Dem councillors petition Highways Agency

Encouraging news was received by Cllr Karen Chilvers and Cllr David Kendall at their visit to the Highways Agency in Bedford last week to discuss the increase in noise experienced by those living adjacent to the A12 in the Homesteads. They took the opportunity to present the 100-signature petition and survey responses from local residents in the Homesteads area, which demonstrated the depth of feeling about the increased noise levels they are suffering following the raising of the road six years ago.
