Tories gag opposition in revenge campaign

In a blatant act of revenge, Lord Hanningfield and the Conservative administration group at Essex County Council have today (5 August) voted to cut off the only opposition group's one full time support staff in a bid to gag the opposition.

New Sunday Bus Service

After years of campaigning by local councillors, the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association and local residents, the southern part of Brentwood is finally getting a much needed Sunday and Bank Holiday bus service. The decision was made by Cllr Norman Hume the Cabinet member for Highways at Essex County Council on Monday.

Tory split over Bank of Essex

The ruling Conservative group at Essex County Council has dramatically split over its controversial decision to pump Β£50m of taxpayers' money into Santander bank. At a public meeting yesterday (28 July) some of the Tories voted to continue with a decision to extend the period of the bank's lending period, whilst part of the group voted to stop the decision.
