Brentwood Borough News

Cllr Liz Cohen visits utility works in Oliver Road.
Cllr Liz Cohen was joined by Brentwood First's Cllr Phil Baker in Oliver Road today for an update on the works that have been taken place during the summer holidays. Liz said: "The school reopens on Tuesday and the cable works will be finished outside the school by then. Oliver Road should be completed by the middle of next week. "However, gas works are now also taking place in Oliver Road and this is affecting the footpath opposite the school only. This is scheduled to be completed by Thursday 5th September although, obviously all dates are subject to change. She also warned: "Please leave more time in travelling to and from school due to the on going Electrical Cable works currently on the Shenfield Road."

Council meeting chaos continues
The William Hunter Way planning application, the biggest planning matter to hit our town for decades, will now NOT be heard by the full council of 37 members. This is despite an extraordinary council meeting being called for the 11th September and the moving of the Overview & Scrutinty meeting on that night due to its time sensitivity - now an irrelevant point in full council terms.
