Brentwood West's two Liberal Democrat borough councillors, Karen Chilvers & Nigel Clarke, took direct action last week to tidy up an area that had become overgrown in their town centre ward.
Liberal Democrat County Cllr David Kendall and members of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association took matters into their own hands in Brentwood High Street on Saturday morning when they distributed two hundred County Council Bus Pass consultation questionnaires to local bus users.

He asked whether any changes to the existing bus pass scheme, or alternative concessions that are currently provided, could have a significant impact on bus pass users across Essex.
In a motion put down on Tuesday at Full Council, County Cllr David Kendall stressed the important role that Essex County Council should be playing, as a community leader, in supporting those badly hit by the economic downturn - in practical terms and through partners.
Acting Leader of Essex County Council Liberal Democrats, Cllr Theresa Higgins, has responded to the coalition budget announcement at the full council meeting. She made it clear that the Liberal Democrat group was elected as the opposition locally and would carry out that role fully and responsibly as they hold the Conservatives to account.
Cllr Barry Aspinell has been suspended until 31st August 2010 following a Standards Committee investigation regarding the wording of a leaflet in 2009.
