
It was 22nd November 2012 when Cllr Philip Mynott tried to get some documents from Brentwood Council regarding the William Hunter Way development - a development proposed in his own ward.
In response to the Daily Telegraph article "Councillors for hire who give firms planning advice" that exposes councillors who charge consultancy fees of up to £20,000 to developers, Brentwood Liberal Democrat councillors would like to make it clear that they have never been, are not and never will be "for hire" to developers.
Brentwood Tories' claim to be "an open and transparent council" have taken another body blow after they refused to hold the "Public Information Panel" in public and said that the meeting must take place behind closed doors.
Members of the Brentwood Bus & Rail Users Association were celebrating this week after their nine year campaign to get the 498 bus service to go into the grounds of Queens Hospital was finally given the go ahead. The new service which is operated by First buses will start on Saturday 27th April and it will mean that bus users from Brentwood will now be able to get off in the Hospital grounds. This will make a major difference particularly for the elderly users who up until now have had to either wait for another bus or walk to the hospital from Romford Town Centre in the cold and the rain.
