Former Mayor Cllr Derek Hardy to retire from active politics

Cllr Derek Hardy, former Mayor of Brentwood, has announced he is to stand down from active politics after serving for 17 years as ward councillor for Brizes and Doddinghurst. Derek also served as county councillor for 12 years and parish councillor for 25 years.

Care Home Disruption

Elderly people will be relocated from one of Brentwood's biggest care homes. The 40-bed Winifred Dell House, in Warley, will be demolished and rebuilt with 77 rooms.

Ownership of public transport is vital

I never cease to be amazed by the buck-passing the local councillors and MP do in their quest to avoid taking ownership of key issues like public transport and the integration of different modes.In addition I am staggered by the hostile reception to Crossrail given that all users of Brentwood rail station will benefit from having shorter journey times, more trains and better facilities.
